Growing Mushrooms for the Tech Sector?

Mushrooms are fascinating organisms. The stories coming out of science and tech sectors steadily remind us just how amazing these fungi are.

Researchers at the University of California, Riverside are working on using the skin of Portabella mushrooms to help extend the useful life of lithium ion batteries. While these new batteries aren't available for purchase yet, could the future of mushroom growers expand to include meeting the demands of the tech industry?
